A classic part of a British summer – ‘pick your own’ strawberry picking. We went over to Over Farm just outside Gloucester. There are hundreds of rows of strawberries, each row raised on wooden frames, holding grow bags. Each grow bag is supplied with water from a series of pipes which snake around and under the field.
A giant strawberry balloon, which must measure 3 or 4 metres across, is sent up when the strawberries are ready for picking.
Over Farm is also holding a folk music festival this weekend so there were lots of festival campers strolling around too, with melodies carrying over the fields.
